Group health insurance has changed quite a bit in the last 40 years, but we’ve found one thing remains true; when a business has fewer than 100-200 employees, they often do not receive adequate customer service or dedicated attention and support from an experienced broker. Time and time again, we encounter businesses who have been sold a benefits package and are then left to figure out the rest on their own, as their “broker” focuses their time, energy, and expertise on larger clients.
At GBD, we believe all clients deserve experienced benefits consultation and advisement as well as exceptional service regardless of employee count. As a small business, we understand the hard work and sacrifice that goes into every business and believe providing high quality service to our clients and their employees is of the utmost importance. Group Benefits Designers, Inc. (GBD) opened its doors in 1982 with the sole purpose of helping small businesses navigate group health insurance at a time when few brokers were interested in groups with less than 100 employees.
Jessica Cavender is President and co-owner of Group Benefits Designers (GBD). She is responsible for managing clients’ service needs including benefit consultation, market trends and analysis, contract renewals, plan implementation, and overall client support.
Alexis “Lexy” Janda Knott is the Chief Executive Officer and co-owner of Group Benefits Designers, Inc. (GBD). As the external face of the company, Lexy is responsible for business development and marketing, which includes her proud membership in Business Network International (BNI). Lexy also serves as the CFO and oversees strategic planning.
